    The seemingly endless variations on the Readymade theme indicate that Duchamp invented an 'art game' which has the potential for innumerable moves. The key question is whether this game assists in attaining the key avant-gardist goals of breaking down the barrier between the viewer and the work of art and bringing art closer to everyday life.
